Destined to be an Overcomer; Don’t Fall Back, Don’t Shrink Back
LISTEN NOW! John and Pat discuss the how we Christians are destined to be overcomers.  Many today are facing trials of many kinds.  Trials related to their health, finances, relationships, businesses, and ministries just to name a few.  These trials come in periodic intervals in our life as well as intense seasons that sometimes feel like they will never end.  Sometimes you can face trials that are so severe that you wonder if you will ever make it out.  The Bible tells in in James 1: 2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.   Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  We must learn to persevere we must learn to overcome that we may mature not lacking anything.  They further discuss how we can find ourselves in one of three places:  1) either in a trial at the moment, 2) coming out of trial, or 3) we are on the road to experience a trial.  Jesus told us in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  God has destined us to be overcomers and to persevere with his empowering grace to pass the trial and obstacle in our way.  They discuss how David although a young boy at the time was able to confront not only the biggest trial and challenge of his time but as well as Israel’s.  David, because he knew His God, was and had experienced God moving along with him had already killed a lion and bear.  David was full of faith to go after and overcome the 9 foot giant of a trial that stood before him and Israel.  David just used what he had in his hand and fully relied and trusted not only in who God is but also in what God had already done.  David did not shrink back and fall back like many of the Israelite soldiers had already done but he stepped up and stepped in the face of the trial and overcame and killed it.  This is our destiny.  God is raising an overcoming church that will face the challenges that is before her.  We must settle in our own hearts and mind that if God is for us; who can be against us?  God has always had a plan for us we just take Him at His word.  Daniel 11:32 says … “ but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. “  Don’t shrink back and fall back, step up and step in and be more than a conqueror in Christ.
