As John and Diane Foley respond to questions by attentive cameraman and interviewers, they share about the life of James. It was difficult for them, as parents, knowing the continual danger that James was in. John Foley shares a perspective about his son’s life that often times happen. There is such a demand for the news that is occurring in today’s events that we take for granted the journalists that bring the stories together and the lives that are sacrificed to do so. Listening to others and making the stories known was his passion. James brought a humanization to the soldiers that have been a part of the wars that so many have seen. They continue to share their heartfelt gratitude to the many who responded to James’s captivity and the FOJ, “Friends of Jim”. So many came in response; all giving their time and efforts to support the Foley family any way they could. There was no lack of commitment. James was a hero and they ask for continual prayer for those who are still being held captive.
