ANSWERED PRAYER! White House Press Conference between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu
Today we celebrate an awesome answer to prayer of the continual prayers that have been lifted towards Israel, and the relationship between the United States and Israel. Over the past eight years, the relationship that America has had towards Israel has been hostile. But, through God’s mercy, all of that has stopped, and a new leadership has been established. The Trump Administration just held its first White House Press Conference with President Donald Trump and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. These truly are exciting days.
As President Trump began the Press Conference, his opening words were a testament to the strong ties between the two nations. “With [Prime Minister Netanyahu’s] visit, the United States again reaffirms our unbreakable bond with our cherished ally, Israel. The partnership between our two countries, built on our shared values, has advanced the cause of human freedom, dignity and peace. These are the building blocks of democracy.” These are words that couldn’t be more timely to be heard, than right now. President Trump continues to bring attention to Israel’s endurance amidst the harsh treatment it has received on countless fronts. “The State of Israel is a symbol to the world of resilience in the face of oppression. I can think of no other state that has gone through what they’ve gone through, and of survival in the face of genocide. We will never forget what the Jewish people have endured.” President Trump also shared about his commitment to working with Israel.
President Trump also addressed the realities of the many “security challenges” in the Middle East that Israel is forced to face on a daily basis. President Trump points to the Iran Nuclear Deal, and expresses his own thoughts. “One of the worst deals I’ve ever seen is the Iran Deal.” President Trump continues to point out how he has responded since taking office. “My Administration has already imposed new sanctions on Iran and I will do more to prevent Iran from ever developing, I MEAN EVER, a nuclear weapon. Our security assistance to Israel is currently at an all-time high, ensuring that Israel has the ability to defend itself from threats, of which there are, unfortunately, many.” It is such a refreshing realization to see America’s leadership so boldly standing for Israel, and also, in defense of Israel.
The fight against terrorism is not just America fighting terrorism, or just Israel fighting terrorism, but both nations working together to fight terrorism. President Trump focuses on this reality because of the deep values that we share for life. It is because of this that the President then expresses his thoughts towards the United Nation’s actions towards Israel. “This is one more reason why I reject unfair and one sided actions against Israel at the United Nations, which has treated Israel, in my opinion, very, very unfairly.” It’s not just the United Nation, that has been unfair to Israel, as the President further addresses, but also “boycotts that target Israel.”
As President Trump expresses his ‘diligent’ attention and negotiations towards peace in the Middle East between Palestinians and Israelis, he also expresses these sentiments; “I want the Israeli people to know that the United States stands with Israel in the struggle against terrorism. As you know, Mr. Prime Minister, our two nations will always condemn terrorist acts.” As warm and deeply heartfelt as the President’s opening words were, the Prime Minister’s response was equally warm and hopeful.
Just as warm as the opening statements were from President Trump, the responding comments from Prime Minister Netanyahu were equally warm, and deeply heartfelt. The Prime Minister began with these words, “President Trump, thank you for the truly warm hospitality, you and Melania have showed me, my wife Sarah, our entire delegation. I deeply value your friendship. To me, to the State of Israel, it was so clearly evident in the words you just spoke.” If there was any doubt of the solid relationship and bond between America and Israel since President Trump has taken office, Prime Minister Netanyahu dispels those doubts with these words. “Israel has no better ally than the United States; and I want to assure you, the United States has no better ally than Israel. Our alliance has been remarkably strong; but, under your leadership, I’m confident it will get even stronger.” The Prime Minister continues to express his deep gratitude for the President’s willingness to fight for Israel, and against Radical Islam.
The productive efforts and actions of the Trump Administration in its first days of office have not only been recognized by America, but by Israel as well. The Prime Minister comments on how President Trump has demonstrated, with his actions, what his priorities truly are. “Mr. President, you’ve shown great clarity and courage in confronting this challenge head on. You call for confronting Iran’s terrorist regime, preventing Iran from realizing this terrible deal into a nuclear arsenal, and you have said that the United States is committed to preventing Iran from getting nuclear weapons.” The Prime Minister continues to describe, “You call for the defeat of ISIS. Under your leadership, I believe we can reverse the rising tide of Radical Islam; and in this great task, as in so many others, Israel stands with you, and I stand with you.” In this fight against Radical Islam, the Prime Minister points out that for the first time in the life of Israel, the Arab countries in the region see Israel as an ally; not as an adversary.
As the floor is then opened up for questioning, the President is asked about his stance on the Two State Solution. The President highlights his optimism, “Bibi and I have known each other a long time, a smart man, a great negotiator, and I think we’re going to make a deal. It might be a bigger and better deal than people in this room even understand.” The President continues to express, “I thought for a while, the two-state looked like it would be the easier of the two, but honestly…if Israel and the Palestinians are happy, I’m happy with the one they like the best.” The President also addressed the issue of the U.S. Embassy moving to Jerusalem by highlighting, “We’re looking at it very, very strongly. We’re looking at it with great care, great care, believe me.”
As the topic of the Two-State Solution lingers, the Prime Minister begins to address ‘substance’ and not merely ‘labels’. He begins by pointing out his two primary matters that must be addressed in order for peace to be achieved in the region. “The Palestinians must recognize the Jewish State. They have to stop calling for Israel’s destruction. They have to stop educating their people for Israel’s destruction.” The Prime Minister then moves on to his second point. “In any peace agreement, Israel must retain the overriding security control over the entire west of the Jordan River.” It is additionally crucial to understand why. As the Prime Minister continues, “Because, otherwise we’ll get another Radical Islamic terrorist state in the Palestinian areas, exploding the peace, exploding the Middle East.” It’s vital to understand that Palestinians are taught to hate Israel from their youth in textbooks, and cultural indoctrination. As the Prime Minister continues to stress, this hatred education must be ended.
The Prime Minister expresses a vital point with this basic question and explanation. “Why are Jews called Jews? The Chinese are called Chinese because they come from China. The Japanese are called Japanese because they are from Japan. Well, Jews are called Jews because they come from Judea. This is our ancestral homeland.” The Prime Minister continues to emphasize, “Jews are not foreign colonialists in Judea. So, unfortunately, the Palestinians not only deny the past, they also poison the present.” The President responded in harmony to the Prime Minister’s statements addressing the requirement for Palestinians to acknowledge Israel and to bring an end to such hatred towards Israelis being taught.
As the discussions towards a Two-State Solution, Iran’s terrorist regime, and the need for peace in the region comes to a close, the President turns the attention to a much different future than what was been realized in the past. He shares these words; “I think that you’re going to see a lot different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. I think a lot of good things are happening. You are going to see a lot of love. You’re going to see a lot of love.” The Prime Minister also closes on a very inspiring point, by addressing the deep ties that he has with the President and the positive realities that it shines upon Israel. “I’ve known the President, and I’ve known his family and his team for a long time; and there is no greater supporter of the Jewish people and the Jewish State than President Donald Trump.”
This deep friendliness and closeness between Israel and the United States was not always present. The events that are presently unfolding are a drastic turnaround from the difficult realities that took place over the last eight years. We should not respond to the present events lightly. We need to recognize the miracle that God has done and begin to immediately walk in agreement of this support for Israel. Be greatly lifted up and encouraged as you see the entire Press Conference, and so much more. Are You an Overcomer? Mandisa’s Hit Song “Overcomer”
When life presents hardship and difficulty, sometimes the best encouragement and inspiration is the next song that we hear on the radio. We are consumed with the willingness to join along with the words, and we find we are snapping our fingers and clapping. All our cares fade away as we are reminded of the encouraging words being sung. This couldn’t be truer than Mandisa’s hit song, “Overcomer”. She previously performed this song at the GMA Dove Awards, and you’ll be lifted up as you sing along as well. What is additionally encouraging is to see a little girl dancing and singing in the background highlights that she is overcoming something indeed. Be lifted up as you see Mandisa performing her hit song, and a very special and personal rendition of the song as well. Greg and Steve shared in this segment.
