Five Things We Will Learn

The United Apostates of America
Pastor John Kilpatrick shared that one morning the Lord gave him these sobering words:
“The United Apostates of America.”
“When I saw those words, my heart dropped,” Pastor Kilpatrick said. “They expressed what I believed had happened to our nation. America had become, by and large, apostate.”
After receiving these words, Pastor Kilpatrick immediately began studying the meaning of the words apostle and apostate.
An apostle is one who is sent on a mission. Biblically, the apostles were sent to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, establish disciples, and teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded. The word can also describe someone who initiates significant moral reform or advocates an important teaching, belief, or moral system.
An apostate, however, is someone who renounces the faith once proclaimed by the apostles. Apostasy is the abandonment of a previous loyalty, belief, or commitment. It is defection from the truth once received.
Pastor Kilpatrick asked the Lord, “Does this mean that everyone in the United States agrees with this new direction?”
The answer was no. Not every American has rejected God. Not everyone agrees with the decisions being made in the nation. But the apostates have united, and those who remain faithful to God and His Word increasingly find themselves in the minority.
Scripture warned that such a departure would come:
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”
1 Timothy 4:1
Apostasy is not merely ignorance of God. It is turning away from truth that was once known, honored, or received.
A Nation Changing Its Coordinates
America can be compared to a ship traveling through the water according to established coordinates.
For almost 250 years, that ship followed a particular course. America never perfectly obeyed God, but the nation’s founding documents acknowledged a Creator, appealed to divine providence, and recognized that human rights do not originate with government.
Then new coordinates were entered.
When a ship’s coordinates change, its direction changes. It may initially appear to be traveling almost the same way, but eventually the change becomes unmistakable.
America’s course has changed, and the nation is heading into a major storm.
This is why we must pray:
Lord, raise up mighty men and women. Raise up young people. Raise up voices, not echoes. Put a sure word in their mouths. Let truth be proclaimed throughout the nation. Let America know that You are not through with America. Revival! Revival!
God is looking for people who will speak His truth with courage, compassion, conviction, and humility. He is looking for voices that will not merely repeat what everyone else is saying, but will faithfully declare what He has spoken.
A Two-Minute Warning
There is an urgency in this hour.
The Lord has shown me that great loss of life could come to America if we refuse to repent. We have witnessed terrible suffering throughout the world, yet America has continued moving farther from God.
For years, we have systematically shared what we believe the Lord has been saying. Many of the things we warned about are now unfolding before us.
Yet warning is not the same as hopelessness.
I believe, as Pastor John Kilpatrick has declared, that we can still cry out to God. These could become some of the Church’s greatest days. We could witness the greatest harvest of souls the world has ever seen.
But we must position ourselves and prepare ourselves.
It is like the two-minute warning during a football game. When the warning comes, everyone pauses. Strategies change. Players and coaches understand that very little time remains, and every decision matters.
Casey Sweet received a night vision, dream, that carried this same sense of urgency.
Casey Sweet’s Dream: “Why Didn’t You Tell Them?”
Casey described being in a very dark room with one other person. She knew that a bomb was about to explode and that only two minutes remained.
She did not see the bomb, but she knew it was there. As the final moments passed, she prayed silently. Then the bomb exploded.
Within the dream, she awakened on a train filled with people. Jesus was standing at the front of the train car, asking who had known Him, accepted Him, and truly followed Him while they were alive.
The people looked at Him as if they did not understand why knowing Him mattered.
Casey answered that she had known Him. Jesus invited her to come forward and accompany Him into the next train car. There, He showed her a record of opportunities she had been given throughout her life.
Then He asked her a devastating question:
“Why didn’t you tell the person next to you about Me when you knew you were about to die?”
Casey began to cry. She had known that only two minutes remained, yet it had never crossed her mind to tell the person beside her about Jesus.
The Lord showed her other opportunities she had missed to tell people about Him and to do good. She was filled with sorrow and regret over what she could have done.
Yet Jesus assured her that He still loved her and welcomed her. He embraced her and led her into a train car filled with believers.
While she sat there crying, someone in front of her turned around. She recognized him as a young man she had known in high school.
He thanked her.
She could not understand why because she had barely spoken to him. But he told her:
“You’re the reason I’m here. You told me about Jesus, and you showed me what it meant to follow Him.”
Casey was overwhelmed. Someone she barely remembered speaking with had been eternally affected by her witness.
When she awakened, she was crying with both joy and sorrow. She grieved the missed opportunities, but she also rejoiced over the life that had been reached.
The message of the dream was clear:
Time is short. The people around us matter. We must use the opportunities God gives us to tell them about Jesus.
Survival Cannot Become Our Only Concern
When believers hear warnings about difficult times, their thoughts can quickly become centered on survival:
“How will I survive?”
“What will happen to me?”
“What will happen to my possessions?”
“How can I protect everything I have?”
Prudent preparation is important, but there is a greater question:
How can I help someone know Jesus before it is too late?
If a person died today, where would that person spend eternity?
Jesus Christ must become Lord of our lives. Salvation is not automatic, and heaven is not simply the destination of everyone who dies. We must repent, believe the gospel, surrender to Jesus, and follow Him.
Jesus commanded:
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
Mark 16:15
The urgent question is not only, “Have I prepared myself?” It is also, “Whom have I told?”
Another Warning: “Why Didn’t You Tell Us?”
Rick Wiles described receiving a vision in which he saw America burning. He did not immediately tell anyone about it.
The following morning, his daughter told him that Jesus had spoken to her during the night. She said the Lord told her that He would begin speaking to her about the end times through dreams and visions.
She then described a dream in which their family stood huddled together while thousands of skeletal people moved around them like a massive carousel. The people stretched out their long, bony arms and cried to her father:
“If you knew this was going to happen, why didn’t you tell us?”
His daughter then said, “Dad, I don’t know what God is telling you to do, but you had better do it.”
That question should pierce every believer’s heart:
If we knew, why did we remain silent?
Why would we continue conducting business as usual while people around us are spiritually dying?
Warnings are not given so that we can appear knowledgeable. God warns because He is merciful. He wants people to hear, repent, and live.
Warning, Preparation, and the Harvest
At the time of the original program, reports were being discussed about serious threats facing Israel and the United States. Whether the danger comes through war, terrorism, civil disorder, natural disaster, or another form of crisis, the spiritual response remains the same.
We must cry out to God.
We must prepare prudently.
We must tell people about Jesus.
Warnings should never cause believers to become paralyzed by panic. They should lead us into prayerful obedience.
Steve Kaliszewski’s Night Vision
Steve Kaliszewski described a night vision, dream, in which he was driving down an extremely steep hill. His car was moving rapidly, but the brakes would not work.
He desperately wanted to slow the vehicle, but he could not stop it. He could still steer, so he concentrated on remaining on the road.
Suddenly, animal carcasses appeared everywhere. They were on the road and falling from the sky. He saw cows, bulls, giraffes, and many other animals. It was chaotic, as though a massive explosion, storm, or disaster had occurred.
Steve had to avoid the animals lying in the road while also watching for those falling around him.
Then he realized that there was a busy intersection at the bottom of the hill. Traffic was moving rapidly from his left to his right. With no brakes and no way to stop, he knew he would have to merge into the traffic.
At the bottom of the hill, he turned the steering wheel as hard as he could. Somehow, he merged into the moving traffic, reached the shoulder, and brought the car to a stop.
His heart was pounding. Everything around him seemed filled with chaos and pandemonium.
He picked up the phone and called me. Before he could speak, I said:
“Don’t panic. This is what God has allowed to happen to bring in the harvest.”
Then I asked him:
“You do have your 90 days, don’t you?”
The vision carried two messages that must remain together:
Do not panic, but do prepare.
Do not lose sight of the harvest.
God Can Use Adversity to Awaken People
We have prayed for a great harvest, but we must understand that people often turn to God during adversity.
The Church was born and spread in the midst of persecution, suffering, and the blood of martyrs. Throughout history, difficult circumstances have awakened people to their need for God.
The car in Steve’s vision could not be stopped. He had to steer faithfully through events beyond his control.
Likewise, there are circumstances we may be unable to prevent. But we can listen to God, walk in wisdom, remain faithful, prepare responsibly, and help bring in the harvest.
This does not mean God delights in tragedy. It means He is able to redeem what the enemy intends for destruction and use even terrible circumstances to awaken souls.
Prudent Preparation Is Not Panic
God’s people should prepare spiritually and practically.
Scripture says:
“A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.”
Proverbs 22:3
Preparation is not a rejection of faith. It can be an expression of obedience to the wisdom God has provided.
Some say, “God will take care of me,” as if trusting God means refusing to take responsible action. But God often provides through our participation.
If you need transportation to work, you may have to purchase a car, maintain it, fill it with fuel, and drive it. God’s provision does not eliminate human responsibility.
In the same way, when a serious storm approaches, store shelves can empty almost immediately. If God warns us ahead of time, His warning may be one of the ways He is caring for us.
Prepare what you reasonably can. Seek the Lord’s direction. Do not hoard or act selfishly. Do not become controlled by anxiety. Prepare so that you can care for your family, help others, and continue serving God during adversity.

But never allow physical preparation to replace spiritual preparation.
Food, water, shelter, and supplies cannot save a soul. Our greatest preparation is knowing Jesus, hearing His voice, obeying His Word, and remaining connected with His people.
Start preparing spiritually now by learning the Commands of Jesus!
God Wants Our Attention
God is good, loving, and merciful. His warnings are intended to get our attention.
He wants us to ask:
“Lord, what are You saying?”
“What must I change?”
“Where have I sinned?”
“What must I do to obey You?”
Humility is complete dependence upon God combined with proper respect for others. Humility does not mean becoming a doormat. It means recognizing that if God does not sustain us, we cannot sustain ourselves.
Pride says, “I can handle this without God.”
Humility says, “Lord, I desperately need You.”
Throughout Scripture, people physically expressed this humility through fasting, sackcloth, ashes, mourning, and prayer.
Mordecai Cried Out for Deliverance
When Haman developed a plan to destroy the Jewish people, Mordecai tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went into the city weeping loudly and bitterly.
He did not pretend that everything was fine. He did not offer a polished, detached prayer. He openly acknowledged the danger and cried out.
Esther and the Jewish people fasted. They humbled themselves and sought deliverance.
God heard them.
The plan designed to destroy the Jews was overturned, and the man who constructed the gallows for Mordecai was executed on the very instrument he had prepared.
When our backs are against the wall, it is time to look up.
Nineveh Believed God and Repented
God sent Jonah to Nineveh with a warning:
“Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned.”
Jonah 3:4
God did not desire their destruction. He sent a messenger so that they would have an opportunity to repent.
The Ninevites believed God. Their belief was demonstrated by their actions. They declared a fast, put on sackcloth, turned from their evil ways, and cried urgently to God.
The king issued this command:
“Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.”
Jonah 3:8
They did not merely feel sorry. They changed their conduct.
When God saw that they had turned from their evil ways, He showed them mercy and did not bring upon them the destruction He had threatened.
This is the hope within every divine warning:
Repentance can change what appears inevitable.
Even Ahab’s Humility Was Seen by God
King Ahab repeatedly provoked the Lord. He embraced idolatry, committed injustice, and allowed innocent blood to be shed.
God sent the prophet Elijah to announce judgment upon Ahab and his household.
Yet when Ahab heard the judgment, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth, fasted, and humbled himself before God.
Then the Lord said to Elijah:
“Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day.”
1 Kings 21:29
Ahab had been an extraordinarily wicked king, yet God noticed when he humbled himself.
If God acknowledged Ahab’s humility, America should not believe it is too late to repent.
Hezekiah Wept and Prayed
King Hezekiah became gravely ill. The prophet Isaiah delivered a word from the Lord telling him to put his house in order because he was going to die.
Hezekiah did not simply surrender to despair. He turned his face to the wall, prayed, and wept bitterly.
Before Isaiah had left the palace courtyard, the Lord told him to return. God had heard Hezekiah’s prayer and seen his tears. He added fifteen years to the king’s life.
When circumstances appear final, prayer still matters.
God is sovereign, but He also invites His people to seek Him, humble themselves, and cry out for mercy.
America’s Appeal to Heaven
Before the United States became a nation, those seeking liberty understood that they could not prevail through human strength alone.
The Appeal to Heaven flag, associated with George Washington’s naval forces during the American Revolution, expressed dependence upon God. It represented an appeal beyond earthly power to the Judge of heaven and earth.
America’s Declaration of Independence acknowledged that rights come from the Creator, not from government. Its signers appealed to the “Supreme Judge of the world” and expressed reliance upon divine providence.

America has never been perfect. Its history contains both courageous faith and grievous sin. Nevertheless, the nation’s founding declared a truth we desperately need to recover:
Human rights come from God.
When a nation rejects God, it eventually places ultimate authority in human rulers. Rights once recognized as God-given become permissions that governments believe they can grant, redefine, or remove.
America needs to appeal to heaven again.
The Church Must Repent First
It is easy to blame judges, elected officials, institutions, or those who openly reject God. But repentance must begin with God’s people.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
God says, “My people.”
The Church must take responsibility for its compromise, silence, prayerlessness, biblical illiteracy, greed, pride, division, and failure to make disciples.
We must repent for preaching messages that do not align with God’s Word.
We must repent for possessing Bibles while neglecting to read and obey them.
We must repent for remaining silent in the presence of injustice.
We must repent for becoming preoccupied with organizations while neglecting the spiritual family God called us to be.
We must repent for greed, for serving money, and for withholding from God what should have been used for His glory and the advance of the gospel.
We must repent for pride, arrogance, rebellion, and disrespect.
We must repent for turning away from people who are suffering, forgotten, downtrodden, or in need.
We must ask God to help us become the Church He intended, a people who love Him, love one another, make disciples, care for the hurting, proclaim the gospel, and faithfully obey Jesus.
The Warning Is Also an Invitation
The words United States of Apostates are sobering, but they are not the final word.
God is not through with America.
A warning from God is evidence of mercy because He could have remained silent. He warns because He is giving us an opportunity to respond.
This is our two-minute warning.
There is still time to repent.
There is still time to pray.
There is still time to prepare.
There is still time to tell someone about Jesus.
There is still time for a great harvest.
There is still time for revival.
An Appeal to Heaven for America
Father God, we are sorry for our sins against You and against others.
Forgive us for remaining silent while injustice took place. Forgive us for allowing teachings to be proclaimed in the name of the gospel that did not agree with Your Word.
Forgive the Church in America for neglecting the Bible and failing to obey the truth that others sacrificed so much to place in our hands.
Lord, have mercy upon America. Protect our borders and prevent those with evil intentions from harming Christians, Jewish people, and the citizens of this nation.
Protect Israel. Remember the many times America has stood with Israel, and turn our nation’s heart back toward what is right.
We cry out for souls to be saved. Bring a great harvest of men and women into Your kingdom. Raise up disciples of Jesus who know Your ways, follow Your teachings, separate themselves from the sins of the world, and love one another as spiritual family.
Forgive us for becoming merely organizational and neglecting the family You called the Church to be.
Forgive us for greed and for serving money instead of serving You. You have blessed us with extraordinary freedom and resources. If You allow us to retain them, help us use them for Your glory and to reach the world with the gospel.
Forgive us for our pride and arrogance. Everything we have is the result of Your mercy and grace.
Forgive us for turning a deaf ear to those who need help and for looking down upon the suffering and downtrodden.
Forgive us for rebellion, dishonor, and sinful speech toward those in authority. Bless our president and the president’s family. Give our leaders ears to hear and eyes to see what You desire for this nation.
Touch our national, state, and local leaders. Touch our sheriffs, law enforcement officers, judges, and public servants. Give them wisdom, courage, integrity, and reverence for You.
Pour out Your Spirit upon us. Open our eyes and ears so that we can understand what is happening and know how to respond.
We repent of our sins. We turn away from our wicked ways and return to You.
Give us the wisdom to do exactly what You expect of Your Church. Protect Your people, awaken the lost, and bring revival to this land.
We cry out to You, Jesus:
Lord, have mercy. Have mercy upon America. Send revival, and bring in the harvest.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
