When we look at Harvard Business School, one would think of the repeated business accolades that the college has produced, but not its contributions to religion. Clayton Christensen, a professor at the Harvard Business School recounts a conversation he had with a student who was a Marxist Economist from China. When Christensen asked this student what he had learned, the response he received was not what you might think. “I had no idea how critical religion is to the functioning of democracy. ….The reason why democracy works is not because the government was designed to oversee what everybody does, but rather, democracy works because most people, most of the time, voluntarily, choose to obey the law…..” This is a profound realization and stirring truth for any individual to arrive at. The resulting pondering thought from this encounter is, “If you take away religion, you can’t hire enough police.” We have to remember that there is no democracy without God. Hear the full report from this profound encounter, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: religion, democracy, truth, and business. Greg and John shared in this segment.
