No Place for Selfish Ambition

John, Pat and Steve discuss a recent article in Charisma Magazine; Why You Must Kill Your Ambitions.  The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. The dictionary defines ambition as eager or strong desire to achieve something, such as fame or power.  God calls us to do the right thing, in the right way and even the right thing done in the wrong way is still the wrong thing.  God has plans for us but they will happen according to his plan and timing and not our own.  There is a season of preparation and testing we must all undergo and we must not get ahead of God and try to fulfill what God has called us to in our own strength.  The word of God tells us in James 3:16 “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you will find, disorder and every evil practice. “
