Revival of Compassion on the Mexican and Texas Border
WATCH! OR LISTEN NOW! Greg, John, and Pat discuss the revival of compassion on the Mexico and Texas border. They continue to discuss how a delegation that included Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. Alveda King, Allen Barton , Glenn Beck and a host of pastors that minister in churches along the border, gathered to act with mercy and compassion in regards to the thousands of children that have crossed the border. Mercury One reports that they have received nearly 2 million dollars in donations for humanitarian efforts which is resulting in the children receiving a change of clothes, shoes, toys, and food. This is a crisis in which the church is equipped to move in love and compassion. One pastor remarked that Glenn was the catalyst but now a revival of compassion has broken out among the church where hundreds of volunteers are showing up making themselves available to help in any way. The Bible tells us in in Proverbs 19:17 that he who lends to the poor lends to the Lord. It was said that when you can turn your back on a child your heart is like a stone. A wake up call is needed. It’s time to do what the Prophet Isaiah tells us is a true fast in Isaiah 58:7 “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” This is the key for a third great awakening.
