When emotions have been high and words difficult to affectively express, Watson shares his heart. When the events of Ferguson stunned America, Watson responded by sharing his thoughts and many emotions through a post on his Facebook account.
When others were unsure of how to put their feelings into words, it was Watson’s post that appeared to be what others were feeling as well. In an interview with CBN, Watson shares, “I had teammates, black, white, coaches, uh, people of all walks of life say, ‘ya know what, that’s how I felt. I just couldn’t put it into words.’”Watson continues to talk about his post, what should be done now, and how to respond. “We need to reconcile in the Church; because we’re the ones that should understand it. We’re the ones that have been saved by grace. We’re the ones that, um, understand what it means to love unconditionally. We’re the ones to understand forgiveness. We’re the ones that understand people are created in God’s image…”
