Celebrating Black History Month; George Washington Carver
John, Pat and Chris celebrate black history month by sharing about the life of George Washington Carver, great inventor and educator. They share how George Carver overcame great obstacles to achieve success in his life. He spent his entire life helping others and giving back. It is said that George Washington Carver asked the Lord to share with him the secrets of the Universe and George said God didn’t share with me the secrets of the Universe but He did share with me the secrets of the peanut. It is said that George Washington Carver attributes his success to God. He invented 300 products out of peanuts.
Catch someone today doing Good
John, Pat and Christ share about taking the time to catch someone doing good. Galatians 6:9-10 says “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. John shares of an experience he had when he went out to dinner. The food and quality of service was outstanding so he shared the compliment with the manager. He continues to share how the manager beamed with excitement and was greatly encouraged by the compliment that his restaurant was doing a great job.
As believers we can take the time to notice someone doing something good and compliment them and encourage them.
Consider the Ant
In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 6:6-11 “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” John and Pat share how we can learn from God’s creation and get wisdom. They continue to draw the comparisons between the diligent ant and the lazy sluggard. Encouraging VFNRadio listeners to follow the way of the Ant.
