We see the Arts and Entertainment and Faith mountain colliding again! Mario Lopez, an actor from the famous show, Saved by the Bell, affirms his faith in Jesus by being baptized. Mario posted his experience on Twitter, and it is great to see that he has shared his faith with the world. CBN News reports on a recent interview with Mario, “[Faith] is alive in me. It’s not really as prevalent [in Hollywood] as I think it should be,” Lopez told podcast host Lucas Miles in early June. “If you don’t think necessarily the way the left does entirely — they don’t embrace diverse thought, so it’s unfortunate.” The beloved child actor went on to say he knows some people to whom faith holds an “important” place, adding, “It’s just not as embraced as you think it would be.” But despite the unwillingness in Hollywood to rally around Christianity, Lopez noted the irony of how successful faith-based movies have become in recent years. He even predicted more Christian movies coming in the future.

He traveled to Israel in March 2018 and was baptized in the Jordan River, and in Mario’s words, “Got baptized in the same river Jesus did.” He was led into the water by two Catholic priests, and was asked the question, “Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Do you believe that He’s the Son of God? Do you intend to serve Him all your life?” Mario responded, “Yes,” to all those questions. When he came out of the water, the crowd that was gathered at the river started to sing, I Have Decided to Follow Jesus, and he was moved by the experience.

We need to support the people who are standing up for Jesus. Mario chose to use his platform to acknowledge the Lord, and we all have our platform to profess the name of the Lord. We are all light within our mountain of culture. Maybe you do not have a relationship with Jesus? You can make Him the Lord of your life. Everyone has sinned and fallen short, but Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that our sins can be forgiven. You can read our testimonies and see where we came from at Meet My Father. We want to hear from you! You can email us at [email protected]. Greg and John shared in this segment.
