Loving God, Loving Others and Leading Others to do the Same

Ruach

by

From dust You formed a silent frame, Then leaned and breathed— And life awoke. Genesis whisper, holy flame: The breath of God, the soul’s first claim.

Spirit of God has made me whole, The Almighty’s breath within my soul. Job’s confession, quiet and true: I live because You breathe me through.

When You withdraw, we fade like grass; When You send forth, the earth is new. Psalm’s soft rhythm, rising, vast— Your Spirit renews what once was past.

You give to all both life and breath, No need of ours, yet freely given. Acts declares what faith still saith: Every inhale is grace from heaven.

Then Jesus stood in risen light And breathed again on trembling men: “Receive the Spirit.” In that night New creation began again.

Dry bones once rattled in the vale; You spoke, “Come, breath,” from every wind. Ezekiel’s vision still prevails— What death had claimed, Your breath rescinds.

And still Your Word is God-breathed true, Living and sharp, a holy fire. Timothy’s charge for me and You: Scripture carries the Spirit’s desire.

So every morning, every night, I feel the gift I cannot earn— Ruach, the wind, the breath, the light: God’s own life within me burns.
