Stepping Away for a Purpose
I stepped away from everyday life for a significant part of this summer, praying and seeking the Lord’s direction, asking for His protection over those I shepherd, the church, and seeking wisdom for you. God spoke to me and has been speaking to you and to several others.
A Warning from the Lord
One of the things the Lord said to Brandi McGlothren is that Satan—not just one of his demons, but Satan himself—is currently looking for opportunities to gain access to believers’ lives. What does that mean? It means an open door, as illustrated in the message “Empty Houses, Open Doors.” You need to close those doors and fill your house with the things of God because sin in your life—unrepented sin—creates a vulnerable entry point. Have you dealt with it? Satan is looking for that access.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8
A Dream and Its Meaning
Another dream was shared by Brett Holderbaum. Brett and his wife, Sharon, live in Ohio. In this dream, as I prayed for you, God was speaking through these events. It was me, my wife Donna, Brett, and Sharon in this dream. We were walking through grassy hills under the bright noonday sun, enjoying a beautiful, sunny day, during what seemed like a gathering or an activity.
The Sudden Darkness
Suddenly, the sun moved from high noon and fell to the left, plunging everything into darkness, like an eclipse. Immediately, everyone fell to their knees, weeping, crying, and repenting for our sins and the sins of the nation. The cries of prayer and repentance filled the air. It felt like an ominous darkness was overtaking us—something so significant it would take our breath away. It was as if what I had been warning about was coming to pass—an intense event, something evil planned to unleash on the earth.
The Light Returns
As Brett experienced this vision, he understood: darkness was filling the land, and the sun was no longer in its place. But as we continued to pray and repent for America’s sins and our own, suddenly, the sun began to rise again.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” Isaiah 60:1-2
A Message of Hope
Brett described the sun returning to high noon, and Jesus—the true “Son”—became the center of America once more. This vision emphasizes that God is good and faithful. It is our duty to do what He asks: to remove sin from our lives, to stand in the gap for others burdened by sin, and to ask for God’s mercy. We need to repent and tell people they must repent and show them what it means to live a life of testimony—believing that the “Son” will rise again in America.
Reminder
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
