LISTEN NOW! In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 14:2 “He whose walk is upright fears the Lord, but he whose ways are devious despises him.” When a man or women is aware of God, and that His eye is upon us and that He never leaves us, he or she has a desire to know and follows the ways of The Lord; this combination is known as the fear of The Lord. Many would ask why are you always seeking to do as The Lord directs you in His Word? The answer is that I am aware of Him, love Him and have a Fear of The Lord in my heart. If you have been frustrated with someone who you’ve seen grow up in the ways of the Lord, who knows what is right and God’s expectations of them, yet who walk in ways that are against God , this proverb should help you understand what is going on. When you see someone who once walked with The Lord now speak in ways that are hateful towards God, His people, and His ways – today’s proverb helps you understand they respond this way because their ways are devious. It’s like although they know what is plainly right they go against what is right and accomplish their goals in ways that put themselves in direct disobedience to God.
