LISTEN NOWIn this original intent moment Greg, John and Pat discuss the importance of having perspective when it comes to the Constitution and the rights that were eventually afforded all citizens. There were many years that passed from the Declaration of Independence to the U.S. Constitution and from the Bill of Rights to the 15th amendment which prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based the citizen’s race, color, or previous condition of servitude. They discuss how understanding this will allow us to have perspective when it comes to understanding what others have gone through on their journey of getting their “civil” bill of rights.
