Religion Does NOT Save Us

Chris, Greg and Pat discuss how religion won’t save us.  The Centurion in Luke 7:3-10 had faith in Jesus even though he had never seen or heard him speak but had only heard of him but yet had faith in Jesus to heal his servant who was dying. So many today look for verification to see if something is of God or not. They want to see with their own eyes. But Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is…” Faith is now not later after examining the fruit. The elders of the Jews went to Jesus and said this man deserves you to do this for him… We do not deserve anything from God. We are all sinners and saved by grace. We can’t go before the Lord and say I deserve you to do this for me and then lay out our laundry list of deeds. Salvation is a gift of God and does not come by works, Ephesians 2:8-10. Religious works will not get us into heaven. Jesus said to the Pharisees, you cross land and see to make a single convert , and then when he comes you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. Matthew 23:15. It’s time to let go of the old ways of doing things and begin to do the new thing. Believe, trust and become hungry for the Lord.
